MAULDIN, SC – For the second year in a row, the City of Mauldin is thrilled to announce its recognition as one of the safest cities in South Carolina. Mauldin comes in at #12 this year on The SafeWise Report’s 2016 list of the 20 safest cities in South Carolina.
The SafeWise report identifies the 20 safest cities in South Carolina by viewing the most recent FBI Crime Report statistics, along with population data. After eliminating all cities with fewer than 2,000 residents, as well as any cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI, they evaluate the remaining cities based on the number of reported violent and property crimes in each city. To further level the playing field, the likelihood of these crimes occurring out of 1,000 people in each city is calculated.
Mayor Dennis Raines stated, “We are so thrilled that the City of Mauldin has been recognized for the second year in a row as one of the safest cities in South Carolina. Keeping crime rates down and providing a safe atmosphere for our residents remains as a top priority for the City.”
