ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The Office of Economic Development is responsible for business recruitment and assistance. Our mission is to provide resources to the business and development communities with the purposes of attracting, retaining and expanding employment opportunities for area residents and stimulating the local economy.

BUSINESS RECRUITMENT

The Office of Economic Development is here to encourage businesses to invest in the City of Mauldin. We assist in connecting businesses with the information they need to begin their move to Mauldin.

Greenville County Annual Action Plan FY 2021

The Greenville County Redevelopment Authority (GCRA) takes a holistic approach to revitalize communities. GCRA works to improve the living conditions of the county’s residents by building new homes, rehabilitating existing homes and improving the infrastructures within communities.

The Annual Action Plan is Greenville County’s Application to the Federal Government (US Department of Housing and Urban Development) proposing the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).

CITY PROJECTS

The Office of Economic Development manages special projects in support of long-range planning efforts and business recruitment. Generally, these projects relate to ensuring that economic growth does not overwhelm infrastructure and public services, damage the environment, or erode the quality of life.

The City is working closely with the owner/developer of BridgeWay Station along I-385 to help advance an 80-acre urban village being planned for that location. It is anticipated that this project will contain more than 1 million square feet of new apartments, offices, shopping, dining, lodging, and entertainment.

Mauldin has grown up over the years without a defined downtown district. The City is making efforts to engage a development team to construct a high-quality, medium-to-high density mixed use, urban village in the center of the City along N. Main Street and E. Butler Road. In 2012, the City of Mauldin approved a master plan that presents a strategic approach to developing a “downtown district.” The master plan calls for a myriad of shops, restaurants, and housing. The City continues to work on implementing this plan.
