Mission Statement
In order to protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitutions of the United States of America and of the State of South Carolina, the Mauldin Municipal Court shall interpret and apply the law consistently and impartially. It is the goal of the Mauldin Municipal Clerk or Court’s Office to abide by all of the statutory mandates set forth by the South Carolina Court Administration.
Municipal Court Information
The Mauldin Municipal Court is located at 5 East Butler Road, just inside Mauldin City Hall. The Honorable Jessica A. Salvini serves as the Chief Municipal Judge. The Honorable James "Jimmy" Brehm serves as the Associate Substitute Judge. As the Administrative Judge (Clerk of Court) and Department Head, the Honorable Angela T. Martin is responsible for the overseeing the daily operations of Municipal Court. Deborah G. Cooke serves as the Assistant Clerk of Court and Gloria McCullough is the Court Clerk and Record’s Specialist.
The Mauldin Municipal court schedules and adjudicates criminal, traffic and city ordinance violations that occur within the City of Mauldin. Since this court is one of limited jurisdiction, it can only hear those cases which are subject to a fine and sentence not exceeding $500.00 or imprisonment of 30 days. The Mauldin Municipal court may also hear cases that are remanded back from Greenville County General Sessions as long as the fine and sentence do not exceed $5,500.00 or one year imprisonment.
The Mauldin Municipal Court conducts bench trials every Wednesday at 9:00am with the exception of no court conducted on the fifth Wednesday of the month. Municipal court accepts payments in person by cash, money order or a bank cashier’s check. NO PERSONAL CHECKS ARE ACCEPTED. The Mauldin Municipal court also accepts payments by mail in the form of a money order or bank cashier’s check. All mail in payments should be sent to Mauldin Municipal Court, PO Box 249, Mauldin, SC 29662. Please note that all payments mailed to the physical address of 5 East Butler Road, Mauldin, SC 29662 will be returned. Additionally, the Clerk of Court’s Office will allow payment arrangements on larger fines. Although those wishing to set up payment plans must appear in person at the Clerk of Court’s Office, all payment arrangements, community service, and alternative sentencing programs are managed by PPS Court Services, 500 Mills Avenue, Suite C, and Greenville, SC 29605. 864-240-2011.
Most importantly though, please note that employees of Municipal Court are prohibited from providing legal advice and any and all ex parte communication is avoided at all costs. Therefore any communication with any of the judges must be conducted in the courtroom, on the record, with all parties present.
Bond Posting Hours for Mauldin Municipal Court
Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 12:00pm
Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 11:00am and 3:00pm to 4:00pm
Holidays from 9:00am to 11:00am and 3:00pm to 4:00pm
* Please note that weekend hours and holiday hours are only for bond hearings and inmate release. NO other court business will be conducted during these hours, no exceptions will be made.
