Welcome from Chief Russell Sapp
As Chief of the Mauldin Fire and Rescue Department, I would like to welcome you to our web site. The dedicated firefighters and staff of the department are well trained and ready to serve our citizens with a variety of services. I hope you find our website informative. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about our department.
The fire department not only responds to fire calls, but also numerous other incidents such as: medical first response for Greenville County EMS, vehicle accidents for extrication involving persons that are pinned in the vehicle, Hazardous Material Incidents, as well as other types of rescues, that include five separate disciplines: Confined Space rescue, High Angle Rescue, Structural Collapse, Trench Rescue, and Water Rescue.
The department also provides extensive public fire education in many areas. We offer training in Fire Extinguishers, Fire Safety including: Exit Drill in the Home (E.D.I.T.H.) and Stop-Drop-Roll, as well as special programs every year during Fire Prevention Week.
We also currently support and participate in an Explorer program. The Explorer program allows students, aged 15 to 21, to gain a better understanding of the fire service and its career opportunities and provides valuable support to the Mauldin Fire Department.
The most important function of any Fire Department is prevention. Through education and inspections, we hope to prevent or reduce the occurrence of situations that produce injury, death, and destruction of property or negatively impact our environment.
Again welcome to our web site and be fire safe.
