Caristrap International, a Canadian-based manufacturer of industrial strapping systems, is locating its new U.S. corporate headquarters at 45 Brookfield Oaks Drive in Greenville, SC.
The company will be locating its new corporate headquarters in an existing 32,000-square-foot space. The project is expected to bring $5.5 million of new capital investment and lead to the creation of 100 jobs.
Established in 1954, Caristrap offers a wide range of strapping, buckles, tensioners, dispensers and more, supporting a variety of applications. The company also produces a series of specialty products based on fiberglass cord, cotton and other sources. Its plant is expected to be operational by the end of the second quarter of 2017.
As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $100,000 Set Aside grant to Greenville County to assist with the costs of building renovations.
“We are very excited to undertake our U.S. expansion. We are very appreciative of the support and assistance extended to us by the state, county and city officials, and we look forward to integrating and contributing to the South Carolina community,” Caristrap International Operations Director Tony Bianco said.
“South Carolina continues to elevate itself as a global industrial leader, and the fact that Caristrap is putting their new headquarters in Greenville is further testament to that. We look forward to watching them succeed for years to come,” said Governor Henry McMaster.
“Caristrap International is locating its U.S. operations to Greenville County which means good new jobs for our citizens. County council is honored to welcome this global business leader to our corporate community. We recognize the high-caliber of Caristrap International and the value the company brings to the advanced materials sector of our growing diversified manufacturing economy. We look forward to supporting their future growth,” Greenville County Council Chairman H.G. (Butch) Kirven Jr. said.
“The City of Mauldin is very pleased to welcome Caristrap as the newest member of our business community. The fact that Caristrap chose Mauldin over other communities as their first footprint in the U.S. is a testament to the team approach South Carolina takes toward recruiting businesses and the excellent business climate the City of Mauldin provides. We are committed to working hard to get Caristrap up and running as soon as possible, and we certainly welcome the $5.5 million investment and the 100 new jobs,” noted Mauldin Mayor Dennis Raines.
